Can anyone join the credit union?

You may become a member of Telco Community Credit Union if you live, work, worship or attend school in Alexander, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes or Yancey County or if you are an employee of one of our Select Employee Groups (SEG).

Where do I go to download the mobile app?

Free apps are available for iPhone and Android and can be downloaded in the Apple App store or get it on Google Play.

Is my money insured?

The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund was created by Congress in 1970 to ensure members' deposits in federally insured credit unions. Administered by the NCUA, the Share Insurance Fund insures individual accounts up to $250,000, and joint accounts, each owner is insured $250,000. Additional coverage is available if there is a change in ownership. More information is available here.

Which set of numbers on the bottom of my check is my checking account number?

Your checking account number is the last series of numbers at the right, beginning with one one.

How do I enroll in online/mobile banking?

Sign up through Online Banking, call the Telco Call Center, or stop in a local branch. For mobile banking, download the Telco Community Credit Union app and click on register. Enter your 7 digit member number.

What documents do I need when opening an account?

General Account:

  • Obtain valid proof of ID
  • Obtain proof of physical address

(must obtain two forms of ID if ID is incorrect, if ID is correct only need to obtain one.)

Kids Account:

  • Must verify the child's social security number
  • Must have a copy of the birth certificate
  • The child will be the primary on the account, and must have a parent or grandparent as a joint member on the account until the child is 18 years of age
  • Valid proof of ID
  • Proof of Address

How do I change my address?

You can change your address when logged into your online account under the additional tab, mail a letter requesting to change your address with your signature or stop by your local branch.
